OLAWUNMI TREASURE BAYODE BREAKS 10-YEAR OLD GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS IN MARATHON READING

A young Nigerian and native of Ikorodu in Lagos State, Olawunmi Treassure Bayode has made global history today, March 3rd, 2018 when he broke a 10 year old Guinness world record in read aloud marathon reading in Lagos.

Bayode who said he has been reading since age 4 started the attempt to break the record by setting out to read for 120 hours, about 7 hours above the current world record holder, Deepak, a Nepal citizen who set the record in 2008.

He began the reading marathon at the Hubert Macaulay You Read Library, with the support of GTBank and Lagos State Government at exactly 1:30pm on Monday, February 26th 2018 and ended the marathon at exactly 3:30 pm on Saturday March 3rd, 2018.

Bayode announced the new feat on his Facebook page, saying: “Hello everybody, something just happened right now! My name is Bayode Treasures Olubunmi(Olawunmi) – I have just finished reading aloud for 120 hours non-stop! I did it for the CULTURE!”.

Bayode, the fourth child among his siblings currently lives in Ikorodu division of Lagos state, Nigeria.
