BLUE HOUSE LIFTS GOLD AT CHARISMARTIN SCHOOL 3RD BI-BIENNIAL INTER HOUSE-SPORT COMPETITION

Blue House have emerged the overall best at the just concluded 3rd bi-ennial inter-house sport competition of the CharisMartin International School,  held at the open field of Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu Campus on Thursday 1st March, 2018.

In her speech at the event, the school proprietress, Rev’d (Mrs) Charis Abiodun Akinsayna noted that the inter-house sport event was part of the school’s co-curricular activities aimed at promoting mental alertness in pupils and students.

She added that ‘the physical activities helps to maintain physical fitness for staff, students and pupils, with a view to developing the psychomotor domain of learning and ultimately to promote healthy competition among pupils and students’.

Speaking earlier, Rev’d Dr Martin Akinsanya, Chairman Governing Board of Charismartin International School thanked the guests, parents and invited schools for honouring the school’s invitation, while assuring them of a worthwhile experience.

At the end of a colourful and well-competed sporting activities, Blue house emerged the overall best with the highest points in all the events and activities of the day, thereby lifting the first position trophy of the highly coveted sporting event. Closely trailing Blue house from behind was Green House which came second in the competition. Red and Yellow Houses came third and fourth respectively.

From the report table, Blue House had recorded 44 points in the decided events, followed by Red house, which scored 32 points. Yellow house scored 31 points and Green house scored 23 points.

Special guest of honour at the event was Barr. Ade Ayeni, Secretary to the Local Government, Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA. Parents, distinguished guests, staffs and well-wishers also graced the colourful ceremony.

Some NYSC members also graced the occasion to promote parent-child relationship as a way of avoiding child abuse and domestic violence. They admonished parents to encourage their children to be free to communicate their feelings and fears to them at all time.

The event was the third in the series of Charismartin International School’s bi-biennial inter-house sport competition.
