EID-EL-FITRI FOOD BANK: ISLAMIC CLERIC ENDORESES JIMI BENSON FOR SECOND TERM, SAYS HE HAS PERFORMED EXCELLENTLY WELL

An Islamic cleric and Chief Imam of Ikorodu West LCDA, Sheikh Alh mustapha Aridegbe Kosoko has commended the monthly I-Care food bank initiative of Hon Babajimi Benson, member representing Ikorodu federal constituency at the House of Representatives.

Sheikh Kosoko gave the commendation at the Eid-el-Fitri edition of the monthly food bank initiative for the less privileged in the Ikorodu federal constituency.

In a chat with Ikorodu Oga Radio, the Islamic cleric stated that the second term victory of Hon Babajimi Benson was a foregone conclusion, stating that the reps member has performed beyond every reasonable doubt.

‘Jimi Benson has always been a responsible and caring person. To me, this is not surprising at all. He has only been doing what he is known to always do. What he is doing today is a true reflection of his true person, politics or no politics’ he stated.

On the forthcoming 2019 elections, the Chief Imam added that, ‘Jimi Benson has performed excellently well and there is no doubt that we will give him our support. We are expecting him to formally declare his interest and we will give him our full support. Jimi Benson is a rare breed among politicians and we ware yet to see anyone that can match his records of performance’.

The cleric also commended the I-Care team for the excellent coordination of the June edition of the food bank programme, even when Hon Jim Benson himself was not physically present.

On the excellent coordination of the food distribution he said, ‘He has a very good team. I see a lot of cooperation among them and this explains why the programme is a success, even in the absence of their leader’, he said.

Over 300 less privileged across different parts of the Ikorodu federal constituency who were nominated by some selected stakeholders benefited from the monthly I-Care food bank for the month of June, 2018.

Earlier, in a statement, the I-Care media team stated that, ‘this batch of Apo Aanu distribution is coming this time so that beneficiaries can have a hunger-free Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.
