NATIONAL I.D CARD: IKODASS EXTENDS REGISTRATION EXERCISE

Following difficulties being experienced by residents of Ikorodu community and its environs towards obtaining the National ID Card Registration, the leadership of Ikorodu’s leading community development organization, Ikorodu Oga Development Association, IKODASS, a conglomerate of  Ikorodu-based social clubs and trade associations has brought reprieve to residents of Ikorodu community as it has partnered with the national identity card management to bring a registration centre to the Ikorodu town hall, as a way of bringing the exercise closer to residents of the community.

The exercise which kicked off on Monday, 9th July 2018 at the IKODASS office at Ikorodu Town Hall witnessed a large turn-out of residents who seized the opportunity of the IKODASS one-week registration exercise to formalize their identity card registration.

In an online release, circulated earlier last week, the body disclosed that ‘The executive of IKODASS has concluded arrangements with the officials of the agency charged with that responsibility to temporarily deploy some of their staff to the IKODASS secretariat at Ikorodu town hall for one week, within which it is hoped that the registration processes for members / residents would have been  concluded’, the notice reads.

Requirements for the identity card registration includes any government recognized means of identification and bank verification number, BVN.

Some of the residents who came for the registration commended the initiative of IKODASS in bringing the national ID card registration closer to the people, stating that they go through many challenges in order to be registered.

Meanwhile, following large turn-out of residents for the exercise, the IKODASS executive has extended the registration exercise in order to avail more residents the opportunity to register.
