Countdown has formally begin towards the 2018 edition of the Annual Ikorodu Oga Day event. This is following a formal flag-off of activities and press conference hosted by the Otunba Ganiyu Abiru-led Ikorodu Oga Development Association, IKODASS executives on Sunday, 9th September, 2018 at the Ikorodu Town Hall.
Chairman of the community association, Otunba Abiru disclosed that the 2018 Ikorodu Oga Day celebrations will kick off on Saturday, 10th and will run through to Saturday, 17th November, 2018 with series of culturally rich and fun-filled week-long activities.
Abiru also disclosed that, the event will feature the regular programme of activities, with slight changes and introduction of some new activities like the Ikorodu Oga Mini Trade Fair and the launch of Made-in-Ikorodu Business Directory- a compilation of data on businesses across the division, aimed at promoting economic development of the town.
According to Otunba Abiru, ‘this year’s event will serve as a platform for the promotion of Ikorodu-based local artistes, as they will be given opportunity to perform alongside other established artistes, to showcase their talents to the world. Another major highlights of this year’s Ikorodu Oga Day is the hosting of a Business Networking Dinner, in partnership with the Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as a way of promoting business interaction among these major Ikorodu stakeholders.
