These are not the best of times for the men of the Nigerian Police, Ipakodo Police Station and residents of the relatively peaceful Ebute-Ipakodo community. This is due to the incessant cases of armed robbery and burglary incidents reported in the community.
Recall that the studio of Ikorodu Oga Radio, located along NBC road was burgled by men of the underworld, sometimes in July. According to police sources, there have been reports of several other cases of armed robbery and burglary reported in different parts of the community.
At the last count, men of the underworld have raided about five (5) different shops and some offices, throwing residents and business owners in the area into serious panic mood.
Reports made available to Ikorodu Oga Radio indicates that, the robbers recently burgled Adide store at Cappa junction, a foodstuff shop along NBC road and another crèche, on the same route. In all of these operations, the armed robbers carted away valuables from the victims.
Addressing some of the affected residents and shop owners at Ebute, the DPO of the Ipakodo Police station, CSP ……….. empathized with the affected residents and business owners, assuring them of the commitment of his men to 24-hours surveillance in order to nip the incident in the bud.
The police chief also admonished residents, particularly shop and office owners to collaborate and engage the services of security guards for their respective residences and offices, as a way of complimenting the efforts of his men, in securing the area.
