EASTER CELEBRATION: I-CARE FOOD BANK DISTRIBUTE FOOD BAGS TO OVER 350 INDIGENT FAMILIES ACROSS IKORODU DIVISION

Nigeria’s foremost food bank and model charity initiative, the I-Care Food Bank has given out about 350 food bags, containing raw food items, groceries and food seasoning to selected indigent families across Ikorodu Division in line with its monthly tradition of giving food supports to the needy in the community.

The April ration of the free food distribution is coming barely one week to the Easter celebration, thereby affording many of the beneficiaries the opportunity of having a hunger-free Easter celebration with their loved ones.

The visibly elated beneficiaries, many of whom are aged, widows and single parents expressed gratitude to God for using Hon Babajimi Benson, sponsor of the initiative to meet their needs and provide for their family’s need at this very crucial time. This was expressed in songs and choruses rendered in honour of Hon Jimi Benson by the beneficiaries, while many of them prayed fervently for the benevolent lawmaker.

Speaking on the motivation behind the sustained free food distribution, Hon Benson stated that his desire to put smiles on the faces of his numerous constituents and to ensure none of them go hungry was his driving force.

In the same vein, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, Director General, I-Care Foundation reiterated that the I-Care food bank was not a campaign strategy to win elections hence, the reason why Hon Benson has kept faith with the good people of Ikorodu Division even after winning his re-election into the lower chamber of the national assembly.

‘Once again, we have succeeded in proving those who alleged that our food bank initiative was a campaign strategy wrong. Hon Babajimi Benson truly cares and will continue to meet the needs of his constituents in every way possible, through the food bank and other other I-Care Foundation people-centred initiatives’, he submitted.

The I-Care Foundation, sponsors of the I-Care Food Bank initiative has in the last two years provided food support for widows, single parents, poor and the unemployed members of the Ikorodu federal constituency since October 2016 in commemoration of the World Food Day.
