The retired Permanent Secretary and former Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly was speaking against the backdrop of renewed spate of crime in Ikorodu, a once peaceful community.

‘I will however used this medium to invite your attention to the malady that has almost eroded the peace ofthe community.  Years back, we battled with the menace of Badoo and with concerted efforts of the Kabiyesi and Security Agencies without excluding the Onyabo, we surmounted the problem. The last few months have also exposed the porosity of the kingdom through nefarious activities of the cultists. I therefore want to appeal to everyone of us here who may know some of the Cultists to please appeal to them to sheath their swords and embrace peace as the path they are treading will take them to nowhere but sorrows and perditions’ he said.

Abiru also assured residents that the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi is trying his best to curb the menace of the cultists and criminal elements, streswing that within few days from now, Ikorodu will regain the peace that is noted for.

‘The Kabiyesi and the police cannot do it alone without your support. At this juncture, we must commend the Onyabo for the noble and patriotic jobs they have been doing and am using this medium to thank them on behalf of Ikorodu people and also congratulate the new leader Onilegboro who we believe would have the total support of his comrades’, he noted.

Speaking on his plan for the next three years, Abiru promised to consolidate on the achievements of his first term. He also challenged members of his new executives to brace up for the tasks ahead as Ikorodu will not take excuse for lack of performance.
