I WON’T HONOUR ANY INVITATION TO IKORODU, POPULAR TVC CELEBRITY OAP, HONEYPOT SAYS AFTER SPENDING FOUR HOURS IN IKORODU-MILE 12 ROAD SUNDAY TRAFFIC

Though it has been almost 48 hours after the Sunday traffic in Ikorodu, the negative experience of those who were caught up in the gridlock is yet to finally settle.

Recall that many commuters and motorists were stranded in traffic for several hours on Sunday, 4th August due to road rehabilitation works being carried out by the Lagos State Public Works Bureau.

One of the many unlucky road users who experienced the harrowing traffic gridlock is TV Continental’s celebrity OAP and presenter of the E-Splash TV Show, Honeypot. The OAP recounted her bitter experience in the traffic on the Tuesday, 6th August edition of E-Splash Show on TVC.

According to Honeypot, ‘I have always avoided going to Ikorodu, owing to the traffic situations of the area. I took this decision due to past experiences on the route. But, because my cousins who live in the axis assured me that the roads has been fixed and insisted I come visiting, I decided to do so but, it turned out to be a bad decision for me as I spent good four hours in the traffic on my way back to Lagos on Sunday’, she said.

Honeypot therefore declared that, though her visit was to prove to her cousins and loved ones that she loved them and would go any length to prove this, she has however vowed not to honour any of such invitation from her relatives and friends in the axis for now.

Though, Honeypot’s co-hosts on the show, especially Amanda explained that the perennial Lagos traffic situation was not peculiar to Ikorodu, citing how it took her about one and half hour from between her Mainland residence to her Church in Ikeja on a Sunday morning, the celebrity OAP stucked to her decision in the immediate.

Honeypot is one among thousands of commuters and motorists who experienced the harrowing Sunday traffic situation in Ikorordu but the negative impression generated may have a far-reaching negative implication on the socio-economic growth and development of the entire Ikorodu division.

This is calling on the elected public office holders and indeed the Lagos State government to address the negative situation, through timely intervention in the area of road construction, rehabilitation and infrastructural development of the division, in the interest of the State.
