HON JIMI BENSON, S.O.B AGUNBIADE CELEBRATE AS GOV SANWO-OLU APPOINTS OLADEINDE, BENSON AND OLUSANYA INTO STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

Barely 24 hours after the formal inauguration of the Lagos State executive council by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu, three of the new cabinet members who are from Ikorodu division of the State has been celebrated by their immediate constituencies.

They are the trio of Dr Fredrick Oladeinde (Commissioner for Transportation), Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka (Special Adviser, Housing) and Ms Ruth Olusanya (Special Adviser, Agriculture).

Leading the scores of Ikorodu sons and daughters who have felicitated with the new appointees is Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Reps.

‘To my dear cousin in Diaspora, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, your appointment as the Special Adviser, Ministry of Housing to the Lagos State Government did not come as a surprise. You have been dedicated and committed to the service of our dear state. I congratulate you on the new assignment and wish you the very best in the responsibility ahead’, he noted.

In the same vein, Hon Benson felicitated with Dr. Frederic Oladeinde on his appointment as the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation. He wrote, ‘I extend on behalf of the Sons and Daughters of Ikorodu, a hearty congratulations to Dr. Frederic Oladeinde on his appointment as the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation. I am confident that with your wealth of experience, the Lagos State Transport sector will witness a new lease of life. This is wishing you God’s guidance in this new assignment. Please go and make us proud’, he remarked.

‘It is with great pleasure that I congratulate and wish Ms Ruth Bisola Olusanya, a tenure filled with laudable achievements following her appointment as the Special Adviser, Ministry of Agriculture to the Lagos State Government. I have no doubt she will make us proud and pray for the Lord’s guidance, wisdom and understanding on the job. Congratulations once again. Go and excel’, he wrote on Oluisanya’s appointment.

Similarly, Hon S.O.B Agunbaide, Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly and Member, representing Ikorodu Constituency 1 has felicitated with the Ikorodu-born appointees in a message he shared to the public.

‘Hearty Congratulations to you: Dr. Frederic Oladeinde & Ms. Bisola Ruth Olusanya. This is to congratulate you both, on behalf of the good people of Ikorodu Division, on your appointments as members of the Lagos state Executive council: The Commissioner for Transportation & Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture respectively.

I use this opportunity to affirm my confidence in your capacities to handle your respective portfolios in the affairs of Lagos State and I look forward to witnessing great accomplishments from both of you in the interest of the state and Ikorodu division in particular. Congratulations’, concluded.

Similarly, many Ikorodu Division stakeholders, especially Ikorodu LG APC executives and ward chairmen have also taken to the social media to felicitate with the new appointees who are their kiths and kins.

Meanwhile, a section of the Ikorodu Division stakeholders have carpeted the leadership of the ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu for unnecessary favouritism by not appointing certain politicians from the division, many of whom they said worked in different capacities during the governorship campaign of Mr Babajide Sanwoolu.

Their grouse, according to sources who pleaded anonymity is based on the fact that not one of the new appointees played any significant role nor served in any capacity during the campaign. Others are of the opinion that none of the appointees has ever identified with the division in any political activity, until their recent appointment.
