All is set for the 2019 edition of the annual IKODASS Walk-For-Fitness rally, organised by the Ikorodu Oga Development Association to herald the week-long annual Ikorodu Oga Day Celebration.
The IKODASS Walk-For-Fitness which was first held in 2017 when the Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru executives of IKODASS came to the saddle has become a success story and an integral part of the pre-events for the annual Ikorodu Oga Day celebrations.
This year’s celebration is particularly unique, as the event has attracted partnership from corporate organizations. Leading the corporate sponsors for this year’s event is leading Ikorodu based lounge, F1 Lounge and Bar, while Eva Water is the official drink partners. The Eva Water brand will be providing refreshments for all participants at this year’s walk for fitness.
The event slated for Saturday, 19th October, 2019 will feature IKODASS member clubs, trade groups and associations, youth bodies and individuals across the length and breadth of Ikorodu community.
Speaking with Ikorodu Oga Radio, Oluwakemi Bashir Hassan, Sponsorship Consultant to IKODASS on the fitness walk noted that, ‘for the first time, we are having major brands supporting the IKODASS Walk-For-Fitness. F1 Lounge and Bar is our main sponsor while Nigeria Bottling Company, makers of Eva Water are our official drink partners. Coca Cola branded T-Shirts will also be made available to participants for free while chilled Eva water will be served to participants at strategic points across the community. To me, this is a big plus for Ikorodu as a whole. I strongly believe that this will go a long way in making this year’s event bigger, better and more refreshing for all participants’.
Bashir added that corporate organizations and private individuals should, as a matter of obligation rise up and support IKODASS and other community development projects, with a view to making Ikorodu a better place for all. He noted that the corporate sponsorship for the IKODASS Walk-For-Fitness was made possible through relationships and goodwill of individuals within the community.
The IKODASS Walk-For-Fitness will kick off by 7am from the Ikorodu Town Hall enroute major roads and streets in the community, including the popular Ikorodu Garage round-about and will terminate at the Ayangbure Palace, where Ikorodu monarch, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi will receive participants and pronounce blessings on them.
