OBA KABIRU ADEWALE SHOTOBI CONFERS HONOUARY CHEIFTANCY TITLE ON INDIAN BUSINESS MAN

As part of activities marking the second coronation anniversary  of his ascension to the throne of his fore-fathers, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, has conferred a honourary chieftaincy of ‘Bobagbelu of Ikorodu’ on an Indian business man and Managing Director of Land Craft Industries Limited, Narayan Vasu Pillal, on August 2nd, 2017, at his palace.

In a low-key ceremony, attended by his compatriots, business partners and other well wishers, the honouree, Mr Narayan of the title was made to go through the traditional rites conducted by Oba Shotobi, palace staff and other honourary chieftaincy title holders.

At the completion of the rights, the Ayangbure, presented Mr Narayan with the royal cap and beads before he was presented with the chieftaincy certificate by Aremo Adeniyi Ogunsanya.  He was then handed over to Asipa Kaoli; the Secretary of Council of Chiefs in Ikorodu; welcomed the new chief into the fold and briefly intimated him on the dos and don’ts of his new office.

The Lasunwon Family, who sold the portion of land on which Mr Villal built his company many years ago, congratulated Oba Shotobi on the occasion of his second anniversary as the Ayangbure of Ikorodu and the Indian national for maintaining high integrity of many years and being found worthy of a chieftaincy title in a strange land.

The Ayangbure of Ikorodu; Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, in his address, said his relationship with Mr Narayan dated several years ago and has been found to be of high integrity. He thanked the new chief and his country men who came to honour him for developing Ikorodu economically.
