DRIVER CONFESSES AS MASTERMIND OF OWN BOSSES’ KIDNAP IN ODONGUYAN, IKORODU

A driver, Yinka Adebanjo, has confessed to have master-minded the kidnapping of his two bosses, a Filipinos and an Indian, which took place in Odonguyan, Ikorodu, on July 5th, 2017. The victims spent days and months respectively in the custody of their abductors.

According to the Lagos State Police Command, who paraded the suspect and his collaborators on Monday, August 14th, 2017, the suspect was a driver at Mateco Industry West Africa Limited, Odonguyan, where the victims work.

The Police revealed that the driver connived with a herbalist, Ishau Awokoya, and one Seun Ogunjobi, to abduct his expatriate bosses. It was revealed that the first victim, the Indian, was kept at the herbalist’s house for three months until his company paid #10 million ransom. The two Filipinos expatriates were also kept at the herbalist’s house for nine days, and released after their company paid #4million.

According to todayng online, the head of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Inspector Olajide Tubosun, said the company, through their solicitors, petitioned the Police Commissioner in the state; Fatai Owoseni, explaining that their workers were abducted, after which the Police Chief in the State ordered immediate investigations.

It was discovered during the investigation that the kidnappers seized the victims’ phones from them and inserted their SIM cards, through which the suspects were tracked during calls for ransom and arrested. The police further noted that the three suspects who are in its custody have confessed to the crime.
