LAGOS@50 SNUB OF OUR TALENTS MOTIVATED IKORODU GOT TALENT, SAYS SHOW ORGANISER, HON SAMSUDEEN AYANLAJA

The brain behind ‘Ikorodu got Talent Competition’, Hon. Samsudeen Ayanlaja, a.k.a Omo Adugbo has revealed that the snubbing of abundant music talents in the division during the 2016 ‘Lagos Music Fiesta’, which held in Ikorodu simultaneously with other divisions in Lagos, inspired him to create a platform for local and upcoming musical acts.

He disclosed this exclusively to Ikorodu Oga Radio on Saturday, August 12th, 2017, at the grand finale of the 2017 ‘Ikorodu Got Talent’ at Origin Gardens and Zoo, Ipakodo, organised by his entertainment outfit, ‘Celeb 25 Events and Entertainment’. “How this one came about was that at the last One Lagos Fiesta, I saw talented musicians from Ikorodu, who wanted to perform, but were denied the opportunity, so I took it up as a challenge, to help talented and aspiring artistes in Ikorodu, so that was how I came about Ikorodu Got Talent”, he said.

Ayanlaja further stated that the organization did not seek any form of sponsorship, being the first edition, but would however write to well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies for the sponsorship of next year’s edition. “The thing is this programme is the first time, so we want to convince people that we are not into it for money, but for the love we have for the youth and Ikorodu as a town. For Season 2, which is next year, we will definitely seek partnership and sponsorship”, he stated.

Seventy-two contestants, all from Ikorodu started the quest in the first season of “Ikorodu Got Talents”, but were however screened to just five contestants, who faced off at the grand finale won by Olamilekan Aramide, a.k.a Sammy Rossy.
