ELUKU FESTIVAL: NO RESTRICTION OF MOVEMENT, OBA SHOTOBI DEBUNKS RESTRICTION ‘ORDER’

Against the backdrop of information circulating on social media on restriction of movements in Ikorodu during this year’s Eluku festival, from Saturday 26th to Tuesday, 29th August, the Paramount Ruler of Ikorodu Division and Ayangburen of Ikorodu, HRM Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, has on Thursday, 24th of August, 2017, described the news, as false.

While confirming that the Eyibi/Eluku festival will hold for 3days, from Saturday 26th to Tuesday, 29th August, Oba Shotobi dismissed reports, credited to him and the Ayangbure palace on restriction of movements on the days.

Oba Shotobi further explained that the Eyibi/Eluku festival is usually restricted to certain locations within the community and will in no way hamper free movement of residents and visitors within and around Ikorodu town.

Oba Shotobi affirmed his favourable disposition to the influx of visitors into Ikorodu division, hence his assurance of the safety of residents and visitors in the community.
