IKODASS FLAGS OFF IKORODU OGA, MY HERITAGE PUBLICITY CAMPAIGN

To demonstrate its commitment towards hosting this year’s 26th annual Ikorodu Oga Day event and readiness to reposition the annual Ikorodu Oga Day event, the Ganiyu Abiru-led IKODASS executives has flagged off a campaign publicity strategy tagged, Ikorodu Oga, My Heritage.

The campaign, which is now visible across strategic locations of Ikorodu are currently displayed, with pictures of distinguished sons and daughters of Ikorodu, adorning major roads across the town,

The campaign, which is an initiative of Ikorodu Oga Radio & TV, an innovative community media platforms in partnership with Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) serves as a way of giving them the opportunity of identifying with their ancestral heritage, while also promoting the Ikorodu Oga Day event.

According to Omo’ba Peju Akinyemi, the founder and CEO of Ikorodu Oga Radio & TV, ‘the campaign initiative was conceived to strengthen the bond of Ikorodu indigenes at home and in diaspora with their ancestral home. He further stressed that, ‘the initiative will help indigenes and other stakeholders take ownership of the annual event, by the feeling of sense of belonging presented by the campaign, unlike the old practice, where they are mere spectators’.

It will be recalled that, Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, Chairman, Ikorodu Oga Development Association unveiled the campaign initiative at the formal press briefing to flag off publicity for the 2017 edition of Ikorodu Oga Day recently.
