Wife of Hon Jimi Benson, member, representing Ikorodu federal constituency at the House of representatives has charged Ikorodu residents to show love and share their food and gifts with their neighbours who are in lack.
Mrs Benson made the remark when addressing beneficiaries of the December ration of her husband’s monthly charity initiative, dubbed I-Care Food Bank at the I-Crae Movement’s constituency office along Ebute-Igbogbo road, Ikorodu.
In her words, ‘This Christmas season is a season of love and sharing. I urge you all to please, be willing to share whatever you have with your neighbours. Many people are in need around us, let us share our foods and love with them’.
The I-Care Food Bank was launched by the federal lawmaker in 2016, to commemorate the annual World’s Food Day event. It has become a monthly affair since then, with numerous less privileged people across Ikorodu division benefitting from the lawmaker’s caring initiative.
Over 300 food bags, otherwise known as ‘Apo Aanu’ containing many food items like grains and groceries were distributed to beneficiaries.
