2023 ELECTIONS: HON JIMI BENSON SUES FOR GENUINE RECONCILIATION OF AGGRIEVED ASPIRANTS, PARTY MEMBERS IN IKORODU DIVISION

All may not be well within the APC political family in Ikorodu Division. This is in spite, of the palpable peace that seemed to have followed the announcement of the house of assembly candidates in Ikorodu Constituency 1 and 2.

This much was revelaed by Hon Babajimi Benson member, representing Ikorodu federal constituency at the House of Reps while addressing party members and leaders of Ikorodu Division, including two prominent monarchs namely, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi and Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali during the presentation of mini buses, tricycles, motor cycles, solar systems and other items to hundreds of residents and party members across Ikorodu federal constituency on Saturday.

Speaking on the controversy that greeted the party’s primaries, Benson stated that, some of those in the camp of the party’s candidate, Hon Gbolahan Ogunleye were being mischievous, by trying to pitch himself and Ogunleye against each other.

Benson however noted that, all aggrieved aspirants and party members must ensure they embrace, support and work for the victory of Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo also known as ‘Oga’ in the forthcoming 2023 general elections. He equally assured his audience that he will initiate a genuine reconciliation between the incumbent Ikorodu Constituency 2 House of Assembly member, Hon Saka Sholaja and the party’s candidate, Hon Aro Moshood Abiodun, a.k.a AMA ahead of the 2023 elections.

The federal lawmaker also appealed to the royal fathers in attendance, to intervene and assist in the reconciliation process.It would be recalled that the recognition of Gbolahan Ogunleye and Aro Moshood as Ikorodu constituency 1 and 2 APC candidates had generated a lot of bad blood among party faithfuls, necessitating the constitution of a Reconciliation Committee, headed by a former APC Vice Chairman of Lagos East Senatorial District, Ashipa Kaoli Olusanya.
