Though, the 2023 general elections is a bit far away, political gladiators have started to strategize ahead of the general elections.
The opposition, People’s Democratic Party, PDP is also not leaving any stone unturned in displacing the ruling, APC as some key stakeholders in the party has launched the People’s Democratic Party People’s Movement- PDP-PM in Lagos.
Speaking at the inauguration of the body on Igbogbo, Lagos State, National Coordinator of the PDP-PM, Engr (Mrs)Patricia Stan-Dioka commended the mandate team for making her proud, by organizing the formal launch of the group in Lagos State.
Revealing the idea behind the group, Mrs Stan-Dioka said that, ‘We are focused on redeveloping and rebranding our great party, the PDP has suffered greatly in the hands of exploiters and buccaneers in the role of the party adminisrators who are only after their selfish gains. This group intends to help the party regroup its membership and rebuild it to the acceptance of all Nigerians’.
‘We shall no more allow these obnoxious characters to wrench and wrestle our party to the background. We are focused on a mission of rebranding the party respositioning it and assist in the rebuilding of the party’, she vowed.
Speaking further, see stressed that, ‘We have a new dynamic formula to assist with our unique brand of local and people’s oriented empowerment. We are committed on empowerment not as a tribe but to assist our PDP governors to ensure that good governance is delivered to the people. We hereby plead for your support here to enable us embark on campaign and empowerment to rebuild the party at the grassroots. With your support, we will be able to achieve and surpass expectations. A well empowered society is a great asset to our people and we will no more lose focus’.
‘We should always be united and stop the defeatist attitude of jumping from one party to another, we are hereby asking those who have decamped to come back and join in the rebuilding of the party as there is no future in the present ruling party in the country’, she added.
She concluded by congratulating all the Lagos state members of PDP- People’s Mandate on their inauguration.
Earlier, in her welcome address, State Coordinator of the PDP-PM in Lagos State, Mrs Ejiribe Angela thanked the entire PDP
people Mandatefor deeming it fit to honour her and her team of executives through their formal inauguration.
She also used the opportunity to inform the visiting national coordinator and her team about the difficulty being experienced in gathering members in the State, considering the fact that Lagos State is an APC state.
She therefore appealed for necessary support from.tyennational caucus of the group, in the pursuit and achievement of its aims, in terms of mobilization of members in all the community and wards in Lagos State.
Recounting her experience in the beginning of the group, she stated that, ‘at first, it was difficult for me to locate our PDP members, but I thank God who brought us this far. I want to thank all my EXCOS. I thank you all for accepting to work with me, even in my shortcomings. I equally thank you for your contribution in other to make this inauguration a success’, she said.
She concluded by praising her husband, Inspector Collins Onuorah for his support and approval for her to join the noble group.
