Less than 24 hours to the much-anticipated grand-finale of the 2024 Ipakodo Day Celebrations, Ikorodu Oga Radio can authoritatively report that the bubbling community will be playing host to movers and shakers of Lagos State and Nigeria political landscape.
We were reliably informed that the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Tayo Ayinde, Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru and Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Defence, Rep Babajimi Adegoke Benson, who incidentally is a Prince of Ipakodo Kingdom, will be gracing the event in different capacities.
In the case of Benson, it is an home-coming, as he is a Prince of Ipakodo Kingdom having hailed from the same Osomeku Ruling House as the incumbent Sekumade of Ipakodo Kingdom, Oba Basiru Aremu Sotonwa FNSE who incidentally is his uncle.
The ‘star-studded’ 3rd edition of Ipakodo Day Celebrations which debuted in 2022 is also expected to feature the creme-de-la-creme of the society, like the Chairman of Multichoice Nigeria Ltd, who also doubles as the Odofin of Ikorodu Kingdom, High Chief Adewunmi Adedeji Ogunsanya, SAN who will chair the event.
Other prominent guests expected to grace the event also includes a former Senator, Representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS), a Director of LASACO Assurance PLC, Prince Jamiu Adio Saka and President, Dredgers Association of Nigeria, Mr Akpomejero Batare among others.
The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon Sulaiman Kazeem Olanrewaju who doubles as the Bobatunluse of Ipakodo will be the Host of the event.
