His Royal Majesty, Oba Olukayode David Raji, the Eweye of Isiwu, yesterday formally unveiled the Ankara Aso-ebi uniform for the 2025 edition of Isiwu Day at his palace.

Eweye also used the opportunity to reel out some of the major achievements the community has recorded since the annual community celebration commenced, since he assumed the reigns about four years ago.

Oba Raji addressed the critical issue of unstable electricity by securing a new transformer to replace the one that had been faulty for over six months.

The monarch added that, another transformer was provided for a specific area, further strengthening electricity supply in the community.

He also listed the construction of A 40-bed health center, facilitated by Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, significantly enhancing healthcare services in the community.

According to Eweye, the community recorded another major progress through the construction of a market along the expressway, comprising almost 30 shops, facilitated by Hon. Jimi Benson during the previous Eweye Day celebrations.

The monarch stated that, a 2 kilometer road project facilitated by Hon Jimi Benson was currently underway, and would be due for commissioning during this year’s Eweye Day celebrations.

The monarch proudly announced that Isiwu community was a pioneer in establishing a significant community initiative within Ikorodu Local Government.

He stated specifically that Isiwu was the first to observe a special “DAY” celebration, setting a precedent for neighboring communities.

Oba Raji subsequently announced the formal commencement of the 2024 Eweye Day festivities and unveiled the official Ankara fabric for the event, with the support of Isiwu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS) Chairman and his executive members.

Earlier, ISEDASS Chairman, Otunba Folagbade Musa Banwo in his brief welcome address expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of the Monarch, Chiefs and well-wishers towards the success of the previous annual event and for their commitment to the development of the community.

He emphasized the commitment of ISEDASS towards hosting a remarkable celebration that honors the cultural heritage and traditions of Isiwu Land.

He concluded by extending an invitation to all sons, daughters, and friends of Isiwu, to join in making this year’s celebration historic.

He encouraged everyone to come together to honor their past, celebrate the present, and build a brighter future for their beloved community.
The month-long event is scheduled to hold from Saturday, 26th October to 14th December, 2024.

Some of the line up of activities slated for this year’s celebration include Educational Competitions, Woro Traditional and Cultural Procession, Public Service Day & Award, Project Commissioning and Grand-finale among other interesting activities.
