No fewer than 16 notable individuals within and outside Ikorodu Division were recently honoured with the Mega Expression Pillar Awards, in commemoration of the community magazine’s 5th Anniversary Celebration held at Igbogbo, Lagos State.
Addressing guests at the event, Mega Expression Magazine Publisher, Shakiru Seidu,noted that, ‘it has been five years of a fulfilling journey for MegaXpression Community Magazine.The journey of a thousand miles they say starts with a step. We started as ‘Igbogbo/Bayeku Info’ in year 2015, before we were later metamorphosed to MegaXpression, with all coloured pages magazine. The hardworking management of this media organization has since then continued to birth new ideas that have positioned the brand as a leading media organization of repute in Ikorodu Division’.
‘As part of this year’s celebration, we have equally identified some notable personalties with unquestionable characters by giving them awards. This is as a result of their giving supports and selfless services to the growth and development of Ikorodu Division’, he said.
Some of the notable people honoured with the pillars awards were, Hon. Babajimi Benson, MHR, Hon SOB Agunbiade, Hon Saka Solaja, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Hon Bimpe Akinsola, and Mr Olawale Amusa, Chairman of Homat Conglomerates.
Other awardees are Hon (Princess) Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Hon (Dr) Saheed Ibikunle, Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, High Chief Alade Tajudeen Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo and Otunba Adebowale Ogunade.
The list of awardees include Engr Gbenga Ogunlewe, Dr. Mathins Momoh, Alhaji Ayinde Lawal of Goldline Schools, Mrs Bolanle Basorun, Chief Kazeem Ogbara, Otunba Fatai Olukoga and Chief Mukaila Onabanjo, the Baba Oja of Igbogboland.
The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Mr Gboyega Akosile, who delivered the keynote address was also honoured for his support and encouragement to the development of Community Media in the State.
A major highlight of the day was the unveiling of his latest brand, Mega Online TV, performed by the Agba Akin of Ikorodu, Otunba Ayodele Elesho, on behalf of the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba (Engr) Kabir Adewale Shotobi.
Speaking on the rationale behind the new online TV, Seidu stated that, ‘Having publishing MegaXpression Magazine for five years, we are excited to announce to you the newest and the latest inclusion to the MegaXpression Media brand, named MEGA-ONLINE TV, to be watched on YouTube with different segments that would whet the appetite of viewers and keep them on the edge of their seats’.
‘Our determination is to make use of the traffic on social media to entertain, educate and spread genuine information to the public. We have carefully designed this to let information gets to the grassroots’, he added.
‘As time goes on, we intend to establish Mega-Online TV to proper TV Station and cable network, in order to achieve more for our supporting brands and other brands willing to advertise using the credibility of our media outlet. We call on credible businesses and members of the public to assist us financially and equally place adverts on our show and publications’, he concluded.
