MAIDEN REMO DAY CELEBRATIONS: AKARIGBO OF REMO LAND, OBA BABATUNDE ADEWALE AJAYI CALLS ON ALL AKARIGBO SONS AND DAUGHTERS IN IKORODU DIVISION TO JOIN HISTORIC CELEBRATION

Weeks to the much-anticipated Maiden Remo Day Celebrations, the Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, LLB, FCA (Torungbuwa 2) and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land has called on all Akarigbo Sons and Daughters in Ikorodu Division of Lagos State to come home and identify with their Remo roots on the historic celebration.

Oba Ajayi made the call yesterday, shortly after the formal capping of the trio of Om’oba Jokotade Ogunbiyi as Olotu-General for the Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family and Arch Taiwo Akintunde Kara and Alh Obe Jaiyesimi as Olotu Anoko and Ogbonyari Branches respectively.

Akarigbo Ajayi, who is the Chairman, Ogun State Council of Obas and Chiefs noted that Remo Day was conceived as an annual cultural event meant to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Remo Land, by bringing all sons and daughters of Remo Land together under one umbrella.

The Monarch therefore charged the contingents of Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family from Ikorodu to extend his invitation to other Akarigbo Clans in Ikorodu Division to be well represented at the event.

The Maiden Remo Day 2024 which holds from 20th-26th December is a week-long cultural event meant to showcase and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Remo Land.

It will also serve as a veritable platform for promoting unity and networking among all original Remo towns and their descendants across Ogun and Lagos States.
