2024 ISIU DAY: EWEYE OF ISIU, OBA DAVID RAJI BALOGUN COMMISSIONS 2 KM ISIU COMMUNITY LINK ROADS FACILITATED BY REP BENSON

The 2024 Isiu Day Celebrations will go down in history as the most memorable so far, going by the landmark road project commissioned at the Grand-finale of the annual event which held today.

A major highlight of today’s event was the commissioning of a 2 Kilometer connecting road project facilitated by Rep Babajimi Benson.

The newly commissioned roads, connect Adeyerioba Street, Oba David Raji Crescent, Arobiona Street and Hon. Babajimi Benson Road, which are important community roads, strategic to the economic prosperity of the town.

Rep Benson, who was represented at the historic commissioning by the Director-General of iCare Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola expressed his admiration for the progress achieved in Ikorodu Division, highlighting the construction of multiple roads facilitated by Rep Benson, aimed at connecting the community and facilitating economic growth.

He acknowledged the significance of Hon. Babajimi Benson’s efforts in opening up Ikorodu, emphasizing the focus on link roads to enhance connectivity, hence the importance of the newly commissioned road project.

Meanwhile, the Eweye of Isiu, Oba David Raji Balogun expressed deep appreciation to Rep Benson, in absentia, for making good his promise to him and the entire community at the 2023 Eweye Day Celebrations.

In his brief remarks before the commissioning, Oba Eweye recalled that the road had been reduced to an ordinary foot path when he ascended the throne in 2020, thus emphasizing the importance of the connecting roads to the economic prosperity of the community.

The Monarch, who was joined by other royal fathers across Ikorodu and Epe Divisions of the state, showered prayers on the federal lawmaker for bringing succour to the community.

The historic event was graced by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Adebisi Adeola Banjo, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Olota of Ota-Ikosi, Oba Elias Ijelu, Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu, Oba Ganiyu Asunmo Balogun and Alagura of Agura, Oba Ahmed Olakunle Ogunnaike among other important dignitaries.
