It was tributes galore today at the country home of a former Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State, Prince Tajudeen Adedapo Odofin, who died at a ripe age of 85 last year.
Odofin, a scion of the Adegorunshen Branch of Lasunwon Ruling House of Ikorodu was also a pioneer member and former President of Oriwu Club, Ikorodu.
The event was graced by dignitaries across different walks of life in Ikorodu and beyond. They include some of the deceased bossom friends like the Sekumade of Ipakodo, Oba Basiru Aremu Sotonwa, Aremo of Ikorodu, Aremo Kamorudeen Ogunsanya and Chairman of the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL), High Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya who also doubles as Odofin of Ikorodu.
Aremo Kamorudeen Ogunsanya, a childhood friend of the deceased described him as a very brilliant person, who excelled academically while they were in school, earning him a Presidential foreign scholarship from the then President, Late Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe.
He also stated that Odofin was the first member of his family to travel abroad for further studies.
Speaking about his uncle, High Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya described the late Tajudeen Odofin as a principled man who truly loved his community. He equally expressed his delight when he was appointed by the deceased to chair the board of Trustees of TAO Foundation.
Similarly, Alh. Tajudeen Amodu, Chairman ICAN Ikorodu Chapter also paid glowing tribute to the erudite Chartered Accountant.
‘Late Chief Tajudeen Odofin was a stellar Accountant and a shining light in the industry in Ikorodu, Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole. Apart from his great pedigrees and professional astuteness, his kindness, love and generosity to the community is not in doubt’.
He testified about the presence of Odofin Tajudeen at the District’s past events and have donated generously towards her events. His enthusiasm for physical fitness is contagious.
