Following the opening up of the political landscape, ahead of the forthcoming local government elections, a former Sole Administrator of Ikorodu North LCDA, Alh. Shukurat Adewunmi-Okeowo has joined the Chairmanship race.
Adewunmi-Okeowo submitted her expression of interest letters to the Apex Leaders of Ikorodu North LCDA and Ikorodu Division Apex APC Leaders few days back, as directed by the party leadership.
The Chairmanship aspirant stated that her intention to contest for the Chairmanship position was to enable her further contribute more to the development of the Council area.
She also cited the party’s gender equality policy as the basis for joining the race, noting that no woman has so far been given the opportunity to serve as the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA since inception.
Concluding, Adewunmi-Okeowo solicited the support of the party leaders towards her emergence as the party’s candidate in the election.
Adewunmi-Okeowo is the daughter of the immediate past Ikorodu North Apex APC Leader and former Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Late Alh. Akibu Adewunmi.
