There was panic among residents of Ipakodo area of Ikorodu on thursday 13th October, 2016 when a thick smoke engulfed the whole environment.
Our reporter who later traced the source of the fire discovered the fire came from the premises of Dangote Pasta and Noodles situated within the Ikorodu Light Terminal at Ebute-Ipakodo, Ikorodu.
A staff of the company, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the fire incident started about one hour before the arrival of men of the Fire Services. According to him, though there was no causality recorded but, a warehouse of the company, where cartons used in packaging finished pasta was completely razed down.
According to our source, though the cause of the fire incident was not yet determined, the company’s President, Aliko Dangote had already dispatch fire experts to the scene of the incident to ascertain the cause.
Some students of the Ipakodo Community Grammar School who were at the scene of the fire incident further confirmed that the fire started around one o clock in the afternoon.
