Mother of the newly elected Senator-Elect for the Lagos East Senatorial District, Alhaja Adeyemi Abiru has expressed excitement at the declaration of her son as winner of the Lagos East bye-election in the State.
It is interesting to note that Alh Adeyemi Abiru has joined the league of lucky mother’s like the Mrs Bush of the United States,whosehusbands and sons have occupied similar political offices at different times. Late Mudashir Akanbi Abiru, Alhaja Adeyemi’s husband had in represented the same Lagos East at the Senate between 1979-1983, the same position her biological son has just been elected to represent.
Alhaja Abiru expressed her joy in an exclusive chat with Ikorodu Oga Radio when she came to the Senator-Elect country home in Ikorodu to Congratulate him on his victory at the just concluded election.
‘I am very elated and excited to see today and to witness this historic moment. I can only give glory to Allah for the privilege and honour’, she stated.
Mama Abiru also thanked the Lagos East electorates for reposing so much confidence in her son, assuring them that he will not disappoint them.
Abiru was declared winner of the bye-election having polled a total of 89, 204 votes to defeat his kinsman and candidate of the opposition PDP who scored 11, 257 votes.
