History was made in Ikorodu federal constituency of Lagos State yesterday when Ikorodu federal lawmaker, Hon Jimi Benson commissioned two newly built primary health centre he facilitated as part of his constituency project to Ibeshe and Agbele Communities.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Ibeshe facility, Hon Benson stated that the health centre was a fulfilment of his promise to reciprocate the massive support he has always enjoyed from the community, which incidentally is his ward.
He added that, it was also a project that is dear to his heart, considering the distance between the Ikorodu General Hospital to the community.
Benson also commended the traditional ruler of Ibeshe town, Oba Richard Ogunsanya for his fatherly support for his political ambition. He was also full of praises to residents of the area for their massive support during elections.
He however advised residents of the community to take ownership of the facility as theirs and ensure it is protected and given all the support it needs to provide healthcare services to residents.
In his brief remarks at the event, Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA appreciated Hon Benson’s gesture to the community. He further pledged to ensure adequate provision of necessary drugs and staff needed to make the facility functional within the shortest time possible.
A former Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun performed the official commissioning of the facility by cutting the commissioning cake.
At a similar event at Agbele, Hon Jimi Benson’s team was well received by the good people of Ikorodu local government, led by the executive Chairman, Hon Wasiu Adeshina who praised Hon. Benson for touching every sector and the entire six local governments in Ikorodu federal constituency in spite of the size.
Hon Adeshina also thanked Benson for citing the project in the local government, and in particular Agbele community.
Ikorodu local government Supervisor for Health, Alh Rotinwa spoke glowingly of Hon Benson, commending him for continuing the right path of his predecessors like Late TOS Benson and others in the Benson lineage.
An APC leader, Alh Musiliu Animashaun a.k.a De Cubano joined other APC leaders at the event to applaud Hon Benson for providing quality representation to Ikorodu federal constituency.
Earlier in his remarks, Hon Benson thanked the good people of Ikorodu local government for their support in the last five years. He noted that but for their support, he won’t be representing the division at the House of Reps.
Benson added that, attracting quality developmental projects to the constituency was only his own way of appreciating the immense support he has been enjoying from his constituents.
