SENATOR ABIRU INSPECTS IGBE-OREYO ROAD PROJECT, COMMENDS HON BENSON FOR ATTRACTING QUALITY DEMOCRACY DIVIDENDS TO IKORODU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

Ikorodu-born Senator Tokunbo Abiru has commended his counterpart and kinsman in the House of Reps, Hon Babajimi Benson for delivering quality democracy dividends to Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

Senator Abiru made the remarks on Saturday, 13th February when he visited the site of the Igbe-Oreyo road project alongside the federal lawmaker and facilitator of the road project, to assess the level of work done on the road so far.

Recall that the first phase of the road project, covering Igbe road axis had been completed few weeks ago but, an additional 500m Oreyo road extension was embarked upon by the lawmaker, in response to the passionate pleas of Oreyo residents who appealed to Hon Benson to extend the road rehabilitation to the Oreyo end.

The initial 1.7km road rehabilitation has now covered a total of 2.2km distance up to Oreyo junction and is currently at about 95% completion stage.

In a brief remarks, one of the CDA leader and a retired environmentalist, Engr Amid Kunle Oduborisha revealed that, the Igbe-Oreyo road project was the longest to be embarked upon by any legislator known to him.

‘This is the longest road project ever to be undertaken by any legislator that I ever know’, he confessed.

The community leader also expressed confidence in the ability of Senator Abiru to also toe the same path in the delivery of democratic dividends.

Visibly elated residents of Igbe and Oreyo communities trooped out en masse, to receive their benefactor and his guest, Senator Abiru.

The team also had the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, Bldr Olusesan Mayokun Daini, and some members of iCARE Foundation in attendance.
