Honour came the way of the recently launched first Nigeria’s online community radio, Ikorodu Oga Radio when the online radio was awarded Ikorodu Division’s ‘Best Community New Initiative Award’ for the pioneering effort of the community media in the area of online broadcasting.
The award, conferred on the community media came less than six months to the commencement of the radio operations. The award was presented on the community radio by the management of Ai-Royal Hotel, an Ikorodu-based leading hotel and hospitality brand, as part of actitivities marking its 2016 dinner and awards ceremony.
Responding to the award presentation, Omo’ba Peju Akinyemi, Founder / CEO of Ikorodu Oga Radio stated that the award conferred on Ikorodu Oga Radio was a confirmation of the unique and innovativeness of the Ikorodu Oga Radio brand. He further said that the award was another positive morale booster for his team not to relent in its determination to redefine community journalism in Nigeria.
Omo’ba Akinyemi concluded by praising organizers of the award for the honour.
