A body of media practitioners who are based in Ikorodu have come together, under the aegis of Ikorodu Media Forum (IMF).

The group which held its inaugural strategic meeting on Thursday had select pioneer members from Ikorodu Constituency 1 and 2 in attendance.

Ikorodu Media Forum, also known as IMF is a conglomerate of media practitioners across the Ikorodu Division of Lagos State.

Explaining the rationale behind the formation of the forum, Omo’ba ‘Peju Akinyemi, Chairman, Steering Committee of the group explained that, IMF was established to be a bridge between traditional and new media practitioners, otherwise known as bloggers.

He added that the forum was aimed at strengthening the activities of the Fourth Estate of the Realm in the discharge of its duties across the Division.

According to Akinyemi, the group will also facilitate regular training and retraining of members, promote economic empowerment and foster media standardisation/regulations.

“In a nutshell, we aim to propagate unity, professionalism and member’s welfare in entirety”, he asserted.

The meeting was held at the public service club in Ikorodu.
