LOVE FEAST AT CHRISTMAS: FEEDING OF 1,000 WAS MOTIVATED BY MY PASSION FOR IKORODU- PRINCESS FOLASHADE OLABANJI-OBA

In the spirit of the Christmas season, a time of showing love and exchanging gifts, a Non-Governmental Organisation, Shelter of Grace Foundation, established by Princess Folasahde Olabanji-Oba who doubles as the Vice Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government has seized the moment to show love to the less privileged residents of Ikorodu.

The body hosted about 1,000 less privileged residents of Ikorodu to a Christmas Love Feast where these category of people were treated to sumptuous local and continental dishes provided by Hon Folashade Oba and her team of partners who contributed towards making the event a reality.

Baring her mind on the essence of the Christmas love feast, Hon Folashade Oba said, ‘The reason for the season is love and so, from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of all of us at Shelter of Grace Foundation, we want to say, I couldn’t have loved this town more. The main objective is to put smiles on people’s faces. This is because, some of us are more blessed than others’.

Speaking further, she said, ‘Christmas time is family time and some of us don’t have that support and love to share at this season. For us, we felt there is no better time to give a helping hand than now, to ignite that attitude that, one can raise two, two can raise ten and ten can raise one thousand. By so doing, our community will be much better for it’.

On the criteria adopted to select beneficiaries for the feast, Princess Oba explained that, the love feast is all about Ikorodu community, irrespective of political or religious alignment, stressing that, attendees were drawn from religious bodies, community associations, political groups, widows and youth groups.

Some of the guests at the event were, Hon Babajimi Benson, Alh Taofikat Allinson, Iyaloja General of Ikorodu division, Barr. S.O.K Shillings, Mr Olusegun Iluyombo among other distinguished guests.

The popular Ibile Dance Group and other entertainers were on hand to treat beneficiaries to rich cultural display and entertainment.
