The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina is set to present official cars to two traditional rulers under the Council Area.
The news of the presentation filtered to Ikorodu Oga Radio in an exclusive chat with the Council Chairman.
Speaking with Ikorodu Oga Radio, Adeshina explained that the decision to present the official cars to the monarchs was in recognition of their strategic roles in maintaining peace and security within their respective domains.
‘Our Royal Fathers deserve to be honoured. They are the custodians of our traditional and cultural heritage, hence the need to give them all the support they need towards providing leadership for their various communities.’
Adeshina added that, contrary to insinuations making the rounds about rancour between him and the traditional institution in the local government, his administration has maintained very cordial relationship with both the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi and the Alagura of Agura, Oba Ahmed Olakunle Ogunnaike.
The Council boss maintained that the support of his administration to traditional events in both Ikorodu and Agura Kingdoms, were proof of his regard for the traditional rulers.
Our correspondent was reliably informed that the two revered monarchs would be presented with one latest Toyota Highlander SUV each that is befitting of their status as First-Class Traditional Rulers in Lagos State at a formal event on Thursday, 4th July at the Council Secretariat.
