Attendees at last Saturday’s 3rd edition of the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative IDPIL N30 Million Naira 2024 Scholarship and Bursary Award were full of excitement as the IDPIL Board of Trustees Chairman, Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN announced to the charging of the audience that the multi-bullion Naira Comprehensive School was nearing completion.
Ogunsanya made the disclosure while making a short remark at the 2024 N30 Million Naira Scholarship and Bursary Award Presentation event.
The Learned Silk equally revealed that the body has gotten the backing of the Afrexim Bank and German Embassy for the supply of world-class equipment ahead of the formal commissioning of the facility.
‘As part of our on-going efforts at empowering our youths with relevant skills, I am happy to announce that our 800 capacity Vocational School is nearing completion. We have also received the support from the Afrexim Bank and German Embassy for the supply of world-class training equipment for the school’.
He explained that ‘the Annual IDPIL Scholarship and Bursary Award was borne out of our desire to strategically position Ikorodu Division Undergraduates across all Nigerian public Universities for the Nigerian labour market, by providing them with the much-needed financial support that would enhance excellent academic performances ‘.
He added that the financial awards was in further fulfillment of the IDPIL SHEER Development Agenda in Education, thus charging the beneficiaries to make Ikorodu Division proud by excelling in their academics and subsequently their professional careers.
Ogunsanya however implored the over 260 beneficiaries to make Ikorodu Division proud by becoming good ambassadors of the IDPIL Scholarship and Bursary Award.
He also commended the visionary leadership of all Ikorodu Division Royal Fathers and their consistent support for the activities of the body.
The IDPIL Chairman reiterated the commitment of the IDPIL to all round development of Ikorodu Division, stressing that the numerous community development and human capacity initiatives were proof of the body’s dedication to this noble cause.
Concluding his remarks, Odofin Ogunsanya announced an upward review of the Annual Fund from Thirty Million to Fifty Million Naira from next year.
The announcement drew cheers and rousing applause from royal fathers and guests in attendance.
The event was graced by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Sekumade of Ipakodo, Oba Basiru Aremu Sotonwa, Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, Oba Akeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo and the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and Regent of Ijede, High Chief Aliu Musediku.
