The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina yesterday presented four (4) Jerusalem holy pilgrimage forms to beneficiaries during the Council’s Annual Thanksgiving event, organized in conjunction with his wife and the Chairperson of the Council, Mrs Abolanle Adeshina.
The event which was graced by the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Ikorodu Chapter was also graced by many clergy men across different denominations across the Council.
The four beneficiaries of the holy pilgrimage were the CAN Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Catchiest Joseph Kolawole Ojuolape, Pastor Femi Gilbert who ministers during the Annual Thanksgiving event. Others were the Baale of Ojogbe, Chief Olukayode Olomo and Chairman, Christian Staff Fellowship Ikorodu Local Government, Pastor Adebayo Idowu.
While addressing the gathering, Adeshina noted that the event was a platform for showing appreciation to God for his faithfulness and a way to reciprocate God’s good gesture to him, his family and the administration of the local government.
He further announced to the chagrin of the attendees that the Council chapel that is currently under construction will be ready for commissioning on or before Easter celebration.
‘Let me use this opportunity to inform the Christian community that our Council Chapel will be completed before Easter this year and I am going to worship with you inside the auditorium’, he promised.
The thanksgiving service featured moments of high praise and worship sessions, Bible reading, special thanksgiving for the Executive Chairman and his wife as well as prophetic declarations.
A major highlight of the programme was the presentation of cash support to 40 indigent residents made up of widows, single parents, people living with disabilities and several less privileged individuals by the Chairperson, Mrs Bolanle Adeshina.
She also gave out packaged garri to all attendees as a token of support.
The event was graced by prominent Ikorodu APC Leaders and Senior Management Staffs of the Council. Members of the Council’s Christian Staff Fellowship were also ably represented.
Pastor Femi Gilbert, who gave a brief charge at the event commended Adeshina for leading the Council with the fear of God.
