Ikorodu division will be playing host to the Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi who is the custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition and top Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, as the division celebrates Asa festival on November 4th, 2017.
Speaking exclusively to Ikorodu Oga Radio recently, Hon Agunbiade confirmed to our correspondent that, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has confirmed his readiness to attend the historic Asa cultural festival as the guest royal father of the day.
The Asa festival is a unifying culture and tradition of the various indigenous towns of Ikorodu division, which has never been properly celebrated and harnessed to enhance the cultural and tourism potentials of the division.
Recall that Ikorodu division was not included in most of the cultural events outlined by the Lagos state government during the celebration of Lagos @ 50 Anniversary in May.
Hon Agunbiade, in 2015 established the Ikorodu Division Renaissance Project, IREP as a non-governmental organization, saddled with the responsibility of compiling, documenting and harnessing the division’s numerous cultural and tourism potentials for the overall development of the Ikorodu division.
In demonstration of its readiness to host the historic cultural event, Hon Agunbiade’s IREP team converged at the Ikorodu ferry terminal, venue of the November 4th event, where the official logo of the event was unveiled to the public.
