In recognition of its quality and adopting good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), in the country, the Standard Organisation of Nigeria, SON, has certified the processes of Ikorodu-based global manufacturing giant; PZ Cussions Nigeria Plc, by issuing the firm its ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QSM) certificate.
Making reference to the certification, the agency’s Director General, SON, Osita Aboloma, charged local manufacturers to adopt global best practices when producing goods and services for public consumption, saying it is the only way to surpass consumers’ expectations.
According to Nigeria Today, the Chairman, PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, Kola Jamodu, had during the certification of his company by SON, said the quality management system of its factories in Ikorodu, Lagos, and Aba, Abia State, were established on the strategic direction of culture and value of the organization. He further stressed that the company was now committed to manufacturing products that not only meet but also exceed consumer expectations.
The PZ Cussons boss however sought government’s intervention in protecting local manufacturers against the influx of substandard and fake products. He commended the Director General of the Standard Organisation of Nigeria for his relentless efforts in ensuring that only goods that meet the minimum requirement of the Nigeria Industrial Standards are sold in Nigerian markets.
