In the spirit of the yuletide season, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina distributed over 2000 bags of rice to residents of Ikorodu Local Government.
Adeshina, on the sidelines of the distribution noted that, it has become a ritual for his administration to demonstrate the significance of the season to residents, through the exercise.
The bags of rice were distributed through the representatives of the CDA/CDC, Artisans, Market Men and Women, APC Ward Leaders, Religious Leaders, Market Men and Women, Youth Leaders, and representatives of every stakeholders and other registered organizations.
Explaining the rationale behind the private low -key distribution exercise, the Council boss stated that it was a precautionary measure employed to avoid overcrowding and possible stampede as recorded in some parts of the country.
This, according to him was also in line with the State government’s directives to ensure the safety of lives during the Yuletide season.
Adesina however charged representatives of the beneficiaries to ensure fair distribution of these relief packages by ensuring that those who need it the most, get it.
