COMMENDATIONS AS IKORODU NORTH LCDA CHAIRMAN, BUILDER ADEBISI ADEOLA BANJO PRESENT ADMINISTRATION’S SCORE-CARDS TO LAGOS GAC ASSESSMENT TEAM

Glowing accolades greeted the Builder Adéọlá Adebisi Banjọ-led Executive, Legislative, and Management teams of Ikorodu North LCDA as the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) Lagos East Local Government Assessment Tour arrived at the council’s secretariat yesterday.

Tuesday, 12th November 2024, marked a memorable day in the history of Ikorodu North LCDA, as the council, under the leadership of Executive Chairman Builder Adéọlá Adebisi Banjọ, hosted the Governance Advisory Council and APC East Senatorial Leaders on a special projects inspection tour. The delegation was led by Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, a former Minister of State for Defence, and included several notable figures.

The event, themed “Strengthening Lagos State Through Grassroots Dedication and Vision,” opened with a detailed presentation from Builder Banjọ, outlining the various developmental projects and achievements of the council since his re-election in 2021. The presentation highlighted the impact of Builder Banjọ’s leadership and commitment to the community, resonating with the audience.

Senator Obanikoro, who spoke on behalf of the delegation commended the leadership of Ikorodu North LCDA for their people-focused initiatives and acknowledged the council’s impressive efforts toward tangible development.

Representatives from key community groups, including the Ikorodu North LCDA’s Chieftaincy Council, the Iyaloja, the Chief Imam, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), and the Community Development Committee (CDC), shared their positive experiences under Builder Banjọ’s administration, attesting to his dedication as a listening and proactive leader.

The CDC Chairman, Prince Adeniran Ogunbanwo, took the opportunity to request a special status for Ikorodu North LCDA from the state government, citing the area’s large population and impressive voting support for the ruling party. HRM Ọba David Raji, the Eweye of Isiu, further emphasized the need for increased government intervention and advocated for Ikorodu North LCDA to be considered in future political appointments.

The committee also acknowledged the council’s impressive transformation, commending Builder Banjọ’s stewardship and the numerous positive endorsements from stakeholders. They encouraged the Executive Chairman to address areas of concern raised by the community, including a salary increment for the Baales, provision of a bus for the Chieftaincy Council, and regular engagement with religious leaders.

Stakeholders at the meeting specifically praised Banjo, as he is popularly called when the GAC delegation identified the council’s newly commissioned ultramodern complex, housing the legislative chambers, customary court, and multipurpose hall, as one of the outstanding achievements of Builder Banjọ’s administration. The facility was lauded as a significant addition to the infrastructure of Ikorodu North LCDA.

Distinguished visitors included Chief Rilwan Aleshinloye, Hon. Moshood Mayegun, APC Lagos State Deputy Chairman; Hon. Abayomi Daramola, APC Lagos Central Vice Chairman; Honourable Akodu, and Honourable Ibirogba. Among local stakeholders were Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, APC Ikorodu LGA Chairman; Hon. Ogunbela, the first Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA; Hon. Ajayi, and seven Baales led by HRM Ọba David Olukayode Raji, Eweye of Isiu.

Also present were some party leaders at Ikorodu North LCDA such as Otunba Fatai Sulaimon Fayas; Alhaji Jimoh Odidi, Vice Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA’s APC; Mrs. Toyin Salau, former Chairperson, Ikorodu North LCDA’s APC; the Legislators, Executives members and Management of Ikorodu North LCDA.

In his closing remarks, Builder Adéọlá Banjọ expressed gratitude for the GAC’s positive feedback. He affirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to addressing residents’ needs and achieving sustainable growth for the community. He credited the council’s success to the collaborative spirit and trust shared between council officials and the people, emphasizing that these accomplishments are a result of the collective effort of Ikorodu North LCDA.

As the tour concluded, Builder Banjọ and the visiting committee assured the people of Ikorodu North of continued developmental strides, setting a clear path toward sustained progress and unity in the LCDA.
