COMMUNITY LEADERS, RESIDENTS APPLAUD IKORODU LG BOSS, HON WASIU ADESHINA, AS HE FLAGS OFF BLOCK OF CLASSROOMS, DUAL DRAINAGE PROJECTS

Community Leaders and residents yesterday, openly commended the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina for his commitment to the Infrastructural development of every part of the Council area.

The Council boss was commended by stakeholders, who witnessed the flag-off of a dual Infrastructural project by the Council Chairman.

First, Adeshina performed the foundation laying ceremony of a block of four classrooms at the African Bethel Primary School at Ward D in Ikorodu.

Among other stakeholders, Head Teacher of African Bethel Primary School, Mrs. Fatola, who spoke on behalf of the school management, commended Adeshina for his efforts towards uplifting the Infrastructural facility of the school.

In his brief address at the event, Adesina, described African Bethel Primary School as a Legacy Primary School in Ikorodu Local Government.

He noted that the school possesses rich history, which has been in existence, before he started primary school education. He stated that the school has produced many illustrious sons of Ikorodu, making it essential to improve its status.

‘We can’t afford to look down on this school; we have to improve its status. This is the reason the local government has decided to build a block of four additional classrooms with Teachers’ office and toilet’, he said.

He further announced that the building will be furnished with fans, chairs, and tables for the pupils.

He also mentioned plans to build another block of classrooms at Muslim A Primary School and improve on existing infrastructures.

Additionally, he highlighted road development projects, including Dada Street, Lowa, and Eleshin, as well as secretariat renovations.

The commendation continued at the flag-off of a dual drainage project at Dada Street, also in Ward D, in the council area.

The Olumale Eluku of Ikorodu, Chief Banji Oreagba, whose Eluku traditional palace is located within the area, commended Adeshina for bringing the project to the area.

He acknowledged the chairman’s efforts in remembering the community after many years, noting that the project meant a lot to residents.

Chief Oreagba expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Adesina and his team for their dedication to community development.

He stated that, he maintains constant contact with the Community Development Association (CDA) in addressing any issue that may arise, while assuring the Council Chairman of a hitch-free project completion, on behalf of the community.

At Dada Street, off Eluku Street, Hon. Adesina expressed joy in the project’s commencement, acknowledging Dada Street’s long history, which dates back to his birth.

He assured the Olumale Eluku, Chief Banji Oreagba, and the entire residents of Dada Street that his administration is dedicated to the timely completion of the project.

He equally pointed out that, Ward D, where the project is located, has already seen significant Infrastructural improvements, under his administration.

Concluding his remarks, Adesina emphasized the importance of collaboration, urging residents of the area to work together with his administration to ensure the project’s timely and successful completion.

Similarly, Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, in her vote of thanks, praised Adesina for his exceptional leadership qualities and commitment to the community.

She however urged the community to support the Council’s efforts by ensuring hitch-free and timely completion of the project.

The dual flag-off ceremony was witnessed by the Secretary to Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Lateef Afinnih and other members of the Council’s Executive Council.

Leader of the Ikorodu Legislative House, Hon Adebola Adebowale led other Councilors to the event, while the Council Manager, Mr led, a retinue of senior Council Management staff to the events.
