FOOD SECURITY: IKORODU FARMERS SET FOR BUMPER HARVEST AS REP BENSON DISTRIBUTES PRESIDENT TINUBU’S FREE 50KG FERTILIZER ASSISTANCE TO BOOST FOOD PRODUCTION

About 600 Farmers across Ikorodu Federal Constituency on Tuesday, received 50kg bag of fertilizer each to boost their agricultural outputs 7.

The gesture came through the office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR under the aegis of the Crop Farmers Fertilizer Assistance initiative.

The distribution exercise was done by the iCare Foundation of Rep Babajimi Benson, Chairman House Committee on Defence and Member, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

Speaking on the sideline of the fertilizer distribution, the Director-General of I-Care Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Olu noted that the exercise was one of the ways the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is showing solidarity with the people at the grassroots who are the most hit by the current food crisis.

Deen also noted that the cost of staple food items was becoming a source of concern, hence the timely intervention of the Federal Government, through Rep Benson, to stem the tide through improved food production by Ikorodu Division farmers.

distribution exercise held at the Constituency Office or the federal lawmaker in Ikorodu.

The fertilizer assistance, initiated by President Tinubu, aims to support crop farmers in the country with a view to boost food production and ultimately reduce the cost of food items.


Beneficiaries of the free fertilizer distribution exercise sang praises of Benson to the high heavens, while promising improved food production by the next harvest season.
