The General Manager, Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki has bagged an Award of Excellence from the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), Lagos Chapter.
The award, given in recognition of his sterling performance in the Lagos built environment was presented to him by Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) during the Institute’s LAF 14.0 Year 2023 forum hosted at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, where he was also celebrated for his unwavering support of the activities of the State Chapter of the Institute.
Oki, in his remarks, expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to the Institute for the honour accorded him and promised not to relent in his performance in ensuring that building constructions in the State are built according to specified Rules and Regulations, noting that the reward for hard work is more work.
He also used the opportunity to reiterate LASBCA’s readiness to collaborate with professionals in the built industry to improve the quality of buildings constructed in the State through effective monitoring and inspection of ongoing building constructions.
“For better and effective monitoring and inspection of all ongoing building constructions in the State, LASBCA is ever ready to partner with professionals in the built industry as the government can not do the work of safeguarding the lives and properties of the citizenry alone”, he stated.
