Organizers of the annual charity concert, Giving Love With Fun 4 Xmas (GLOWFUX) have announced that preparations are in top gear to host this year’s edition of the concert.
The charity event which is popularly known as GLOWFUX charity concert is an initiative of Fanafillit Integrated Concepts aimed at giving folks at the less privileged homes such as orphanages, rehabilitation homes etc the rare privilege of celebrating Christmas day in an unusual joyful atmosphere.
According to a statement released by the organizers “The Giving Love With Fun 4 Xmas (GLOWFUX) idea stemmed from our careful study of the tradition that the end of the year yuletide (especially Christmas) signifies annual homecoming for loved ones and reunion with friends and families. Study had shown that the Christmas however tend to be emotional period for children in orphanages or help homes as they usually look forward to having their wishes come true, wishes like having folks visit them and take them on the customary festive outings like concerts, cinemas etc. Hence, GLOWFUX was designed as sharing the Christmas day in a spectacular way by hosting children from various orphanages under one roof to a special entertainment concert with varieties of fun like carol rendition, music, dance, comedy performances, fashion parade; Gifts from Santa Claus, Feasting with love, Presentation of Christmas hampers to their excitement’, the statement reads.
The GLOWFUX charity concert event is also aimed at encouraging members of the general public on the importance of sacrificing special days in their lives with those who are remotely related to them. This informs the reason why it is also open to accommodate families from the public.
Stressing further on steps taken to add more value to the project, the Coordinator of #GLOWFUX2018, Bosede Idiaka stated in the press release that “this year’s edition is going a step higher as there are lots of remarkable activities for the day.”
Chief among the activities lined up for this year according to the Coordinator is “decoration of GLOWFUX Patrons namely, His Royal Majesty (Oba) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu & his wife Her Royal Majesty, Olori Abosede Shotobi; Prince Abiodun Ogunleye (former Deputy Governor of Lagos State); Alhaja; Alhaji Taiwo Oshikoya (CEO, Corsican Brothers Ltd) and Alhaja Olufunmi Oshinowo-Bashorun, a frontline politician in Lagos State who are to be decorated as Royal Grand Patron & Grand Matron, Grand Patron & Matron, Patron & Matron respectively.
Also to be decorated at the event is a couple of children from different families across the division who are to be inducted as the first batch of GLOWFUX Young Ambassadors Hall of Fame. The GLOWFUX Young Ambassadors Hall of Fame is a GLOWFUX ‘community’ of youngsters with common goal of impacting positively on the society through the act of and advocacy for reaching out to help, caring for, and putting smiles on faces of others who are mostly unrelated to us in any way. The Ambassadors are children between ages 5 and 17 identified to possess unique qualities of intelligence, confidence, kindness and generosity.
Notable entertainment/media practitioners proposed to be part of this year edition of the charity concert are Doyin Kukoyi, Sola Kosoko of LTV 8, Funso Adeolu, Nike Peller, Adedimeji Lateef, Yewande Adekoya-Abiodun, Sola Allyson, TQ Bello, Arewa, Fatai Akanbi Valentine, Da’Fresh Olorin, Phazehop, Richy Manny, Dharnniella, Sniffy Fantasy, Qdot Alagbe, Bharry Jay, MC Talktalk, AY Pompey, MC Ojo Martins, FKM, Perpetual Meat, Antras, DJ Hadex, Flexible Twists, DPG, Queen Agbeke Eko, Rengazza, Queen Yetunde Savage, Miss Ikorodu Oga 2018, Miss Adeboruwa 2018 and many others.
Members of the general public are encouraged not only to attend the concert scheduled to hold on Christmas day at Funcity opposite Ragolis Water, Lagos Road from 2pm to 6pm with love, but they are also enjoined to come along with gift items and relief materials such as clothing, mattress, beverages et al for the orphanages being hosted.
