HISTORY AS ANOKO-OGBONYARI ROYAL FAMILY VISITS HOMESTEAD, GBERIGBE-OWA AKARIGBO, PARLEYS RESIDENTS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

History was made in Ikorodu last Saturday as the Anoko-Ogbonyari Akarigbo Royal Family of Ikorodu, Yoruba ‘s largest Royal Family paid a historic visit to their homestead at Gberigbe-Owa Akarigbo in Ikorodu Local Government area.

The visiting royal family members were led by the Olotu-General of Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family of Ikorodu, Om’oba Jokotade Ogunbiyi a.k.a Jokotex and a retinue of Royal sons and daughters of the family.

The Olota of Ota-Ikosi and Paramount Ruler of Ota Ikosi LCDA, Oba Elias Omoloro Ijelu who is also a prominent son of the royal family and one of the tens of Royal Fathers within the Anoko-Ogbonyari also joined the visiting team.

The Royal delegates were well received by all the CDAs within Gberigbe-Owa alongside hundreds of residents who trooped our in their numbers to catch a glimpse of the royal sons and daughters of the soil of Gberigbe-Owa at the community Town Hall.

The royal family members and residents of the community deliberated on a number of sundry issues of interests, ranging from security, road infrastructure, market, among others.

Some of the chieftains of the town’s CDA that spoke at the strategic meeting thanked the family for formally familiarizing themselves with the residents for the first time in group.

They however expressed hope that the visit of the family will help to facilitate rapid Infrastructural development in the community.

Responding, on behalf of the entire family, His Royal Majesty, Olota of Ota-Ikosi, Oba Elias Omoloro Ijelu assured residents of the willingness of the family to collaborate with them towards ensuring that development takes place in the community.

Speaking in the same vein, the Olotu-General of Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family, Om’oba Jokotade Ogunbiyi corroborated Oba Ijelu’s position.

He also encouraged the residents to feel free to reach out to the family on any issues or concerns, while assuring them of prompt attention and response.

A major take-away from the historic visit was a proposed annual community day celebration to be hosted by the royal family in partnership with the community as a way of fostering unity between the Anoko-Ogbonyari Akarigbo Royal Family and residents of the community.

Other prominent members of the Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family who graced the historic visit were, Olotu Ogbonyari Royal Family, Arc. Taiwo Akintunde Kara, Olotu Anoko Royal Family, Omoba Sikiru Obey Jaiyesimi and Otunba Fuwase of Remo Land, Otunba Niyi Banjoko.

Other royal family members at the event include, Om’oba Olatunji Ogunnowo, Bashogun of Ikorodu, Om’oba Awawu Awobajo, Om’oba Adebowale Ogayemi, Lisa of Ikorodu, Baale Owa town, Baale Bayo Awomodu.

Others were Baale Lookman Awomodu, Olotu Sogalu, Baale Adewale jaiyesimi, Baale Dada Efunname, Baale Ifatunmise Sogalu and Baale Adewale Nurudeen.

Others were Om’oba Sarafadeen, Otunba Rasheed Alesinloye, Otunba of Ikorodu Kingdom, Om’oba Abayomi Aina, Otunba Usedo, Om’oba Dotun Enifeni, Om’oba Fatai Shodeinde Ogunbiyi and Om’oba Adeoye Adeite.

They also included Om’oba Kabiru Olumade, Om’oba Sakiru Olumade, Om’oba Doyin Igimisoje, omoba Sakiru Igimisoje, Om’oba Ade Olumade, Om’oba Adebunkola Adefolayiga, Om’oba Rilwan Adeite and Om’oba Taju Ogbonyari.

Founder and CEO of Ikorodu Oga Radio, Om’oba ‘Peju Akinyemi, Editor-in-chief of Oriwu Sun Newspaper, Alh. Prince Ganiu Sanni, Om’oba Adedoyin Ogunbiyi and Prince Kabir Ibikunle Olumide also joined hundreds of fellow royal bloods that witnessed the historic visit.
