IDPIL BOT CHAIRMAN, HIGH CHIEF ADEWUNMI OGUNSANYA COMMENDS SEKUMADE OF IPAKODO, OBA BASIRU SOTONWA’S VISIONARY LEADERSHIP, SET TO LIGHT UP IPAKODO WITH SOLAR STREET LIGHTS

The Board of Trustees Chairman of Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative IDPIL has commended the Sekumade of Ipakodo, Oba Basiru Aremu Sotonwa, FNSE for providing visionary leadership for the good people of Ipakodo since he ascended the throne of his fore-fathers almost seven years ago.

Ogunsanya also poured encomiums on the Ipakodo monarch for his contributions toward stability and development in the community.

Ogunsanya, who is also the Odofin of Ikorodu gave the commendation last Friday during the formal foundation-laying of the N200 Million Naira ultra-modern Oba Sekumade Palace, Ipakodo.

‘Kabiyesi has changed the face of this community and has attracted lots of businesses, both foreign and local investment and we are very proud of his giant strides’.

“IDPL is just like an NGO, saddled with responsibility of not only security but in different sectors like education, health and infrastructural development.

In his welcome remarks, the traditional ruler expressed joy over the initiatives and commended the effort of IDPL for the construction of the new palace as part of their plan.

The IDPIL Chairman, who was represented by the Executive Secretary of the body, Otunba Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN also celebrated the monarch for being a good leader and an inspiration to many.

‘Kabiyesi has always been a very good leader. As his subordinates in service of Lagos State, he contributed in no small measures to the career advancement of many Ikorodu Division indigenes’, he noted.

Abiru therefore submitted that, judging by Oba Sotonwa’s antecedents Ipakodo was in good hands and would soon witness unprecedented developments.

‘Going by Kabiyesi’s antecedents, Ipakodo is in safe hands and has not seen anything yet, in terms of positive developments’.

The retired Permanent Secretary and Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly equally announced that the IDPIL will be providing solar-powered street lights for the community, as a demonstration of the body’s commitment to Ipakodo.
