IKORODU LG SPONSORS 40 WOMEN ON 3-DAY ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING FOR SELF RELIANCE

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina, on Wednesday flagged off the sponsorship a 3-day Entrepreneurship Training for 40 women, in partnership with TEEFRANK International Limited, a human capacity development training firm.

In his opening speech at the flag-off ceremony, Adeshina noted that the training was aimed at empowering the women to make them self-sufficient and financially stable.

He added that, the training was targeted at enhancing the entrepreneurship capacity of Ikorodu women, based on the belief that, once a woman is trained, the entire family will benefit.

‘Women are very strategic to the development of any society. When you train a woman, you have trained a whole community. This is aimed at making them self-sufficient’, he said.

‘Today, we are training about 40 women in different empowerment programmes so that they can also contribute to the economic prosperity of our council area’, he added.

Adeshina further noted that, the training was meant to position Ikorodu Local Government women as a strategic support system to their individual families, while helping them to attain financial stability.

Adeshina further used the opportunity to give an update about the on-going Fashion Designing training for 200 youths across Ikorodu Local Government. He noted that they would be supported to start up their businesses after their graduation in January, 2025.

The Council boss however assured the gathering of the commitment of his administration to the economic empowerment of men in the Council area as well.

He cited the distribution of mini-buses and sponsorship of some men to the United Kingdom for training on Modern Agriculture as part of his administration’s past support for the menfolk.

The flag-off event was graced by top APC Chieftains across the Council area and senior Management staff of the local government.
