Barely 24 hours after supporting 30 Law students from indigent families across Ikorodu Federal Constituency with N6 Million Naira cash grant to support their Law School programme, Rep Babajimi Benson, Chairman House Committee on Defence has again given food support to hundreds of indigent families across Ikorodu Division.
The federal lawmaker, through his I-Care Foundation Food Bank, today distributed bagged groceries and other raw food items to Christian and Muslim Families across Ikorodu Division at his Constituency Office.
The monthly food support, dubbed ‘Apo Aanu’ which was launched in 2016 is Benson’s food support initiative, aimed at reducing hunger among indigent members of his constituency.
The March edition of the exercise, which coincides with the on-going Christian Lent and Muslim Ramadan fasting exercises was timely for adherents of the two major faiths as it will assist them to further engage effectively in the spiritual exercises, without the concern of how and where to get food.
Some of the beneficiaries, comprising the aged, widows, single parents and unemployed youths who spoke to the media expressed gratitude to the amiable federal lawmaker for showing concern for their plight.
The exercise was witnessed by top APC Chieftains across Ikorodu Division and members of the I-Care Foundation, led by its Director-General, Mayor Deen Sanwoola.
