RELIEF AS REP BENSON GIVES 30 IKORODU DIVISION LAW STUDENTS 6 MILLION GRANT TO SUPPORT THEIR LAW SCHOOL PROGRAMME

Relief came the way of 30 selected Law students from different parts of Ikorodu Federal Constituency today as they received the sum of N6,000,000 grant to support their Law School expenses.

Each of the beneficiaries got a cash grant of N200,000 each from the Chairman House of Reps Committee on Defence, Rep Babajimi Benson who himself is a Lawyer.

Explaining the reason behind the gesture, Benson stated that it was meant ‘to motivate and support indigent students from Ikorodu Federal Constituency, who have been successfully mobilized to attend the Nigerian Law School’.

‘Thirty beneficiaries of the second edition were drawn from various public and private tertiary institutions, including Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), University of Ibadan (UI), University of Lagos (Unilag), Elizade University, Redeemer’s University, Lagos State University (LASU), Ambrose Alli University, among others’, he added.

He continued, ‘The grant which is specially designed to support law graduates in the pursuit of legal education across the country will not only enhance human capital development but empower the next generation of leaders’.

The grant presentation was witnessed by members of the Eminent Personality in Ikorodu Division (EPID), led by the Chairman Liaison Council, Alhaji Babatunde Rotinwa, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, a retired Lagos State Head of Service, Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman, Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Builder Sesan Daini.

Others were members of the I-Care Foundation, led by the Director-General of the I-Care Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola.

Some of the visibly elated beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to the Federal Lawmaker for what they termed a ‘timely gesture’ that would go a long way in easing their financial burdens at the Law School.

Meanwhile, Alh. Babatunde Tajudeen Rotinwa, Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe and Asiwaju Kaoli, in their separate remarks commended Benson for promoting academic excellence among the youths.

They equally charged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by coming out in flying colours while not forgetting to also give back to the Ikorodu Division in the future.
