Christmas, a time of rejoicing and festivities came early for the good people of Selewu community in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, today as the Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Defence, Rep Babajimi Benson gave an unforgettable Christmas gift to residents of the area.
Benson, who is also the Member, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives today, flagged off the reconstruction of the deplorable 2.5 km Selewu Road, in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.
Speaking on behalf of Benson at the event, Director-General of iCare Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola stated that the event was a further demonstration of Benson’s commitment to the development of Ikorodu Division.
Deen added that the road was strategic to Igbogbo community as it serves as a major link road to many parts of Igbogbo communities, and in particular, the Igbogbo-Baiyeku Road.
The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali who was represented by the Odofin of Igbogbo, High Chief Tajudeen Onasanya praised Benson for providing quality representation for the Constituency by facilitating Infrastructural development projects to the Division.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Builder Sesan Daini also expressed appreciation to the Federal Lawmaker for supporting the infrastructural drive in the area.
A former Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Former Commissioner for Tourism in the State, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola equally sang Benson’s praise for living up to the expectation of his constituents.
The 2.5km road, set to be completed within 5 months, we were reliably informed, will also include the installation of Solar-powered street lights; a development that will significantly boost the area’s economic potential and improve the residents’ quality of life.
Deen, on behalf of Benson, expressed deep appreciation to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, represented by High Chief Tajudeen Onasanya, Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Builder Sesan Daini, former Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Hon. Akinsola Adebimpe, and all other stakeholders for their invaluable support.
The event climaxed with the formal flag-off of the road project to the excitement of all residents and stakeholders.
